CHILDS, Gladys E. (1913 - 1995)

OBITUARY

Galdys Evelyn CHILDS was born near Dinsdale, Iowa on December 7, 1913; the daughter of Harry and agnes (LYNDON) BRIGGS. Gladys received her education at the Dinsdale School and then became employed at the Rock Island Arsenal. On December 23, 1938 Gladys married Lawrence CHILDS at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. She and Lawrence made their home in Traer where she was employed many years at the Traer Bakery. Following Lawrence’s death on March 5, 1993 she continued to make her home at 704 6th Street where she became ill suddenly. Her death came on Saturday, December 16, 1995 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo at the age of 82 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence, four brothers; Wilson, Sam, Lynus, and Leroy and one sister Alice TANNER. Gladys is survived by her son Ronald of Traer, her daughter Mrs. Jim (Susan) OHRT of Cedar Falls, one brother Bill BRIGGS of Washington, DC as well as four grandchildren.
