BURTON, Merle (1918 - 1989)

Merle BURTON

TRAER - Services for Merle BURTON, 71, of Sedona, Ariz., and formerly of Traer, will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Traer, burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo, with graveside military rites by Traer American Legion; he died Thursday (Sept. 7) at Covenant Medical Center at Kimball Avenue, Waterloo, of a sudden illness; survivors include his wife, Eloise; three daughters, Barbara MORRIS of Denver, Colo., Susan ROGERS of Waterloo and Beth BURTON of Des Moines; a stepdaughter, Vicki MORRIS of Utah; a stepson, Cameron ROTTLER of California; a grandchild and six step-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby BURTON of Paton; he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters; friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at Overton Funeral Home, Traer, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. rosary Sunday; he served with the U. S. military and managed the Traer Lumber Yard before moving to Arizona.
