BLOHM, Harry (1913 - 1979)

Harry BLOHM

Funeral services were held for Harry BLOHM, 66, of Traer, on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. at the St. Luke Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Nikolaisen, past, officiating. Burial was in the West Union Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 14, 1913, at Hudson, the son of Claus and Anna RASSUAM BLOHM. He received his education at Reinbeck and then began farming with his parents.

On May 21, 1938, Harry married Florence ANDERSON at Reinbeck and they began farming near Reinbeck where they lived for 17 years.

They moved west of Traer and farmed until 1972 when they moved to thier present home on the farm east of Traer. Harry was still actively engaged in farming when he died on Monday, Nov. 19 at Waterloo.

He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church at Reinbeck.

He is survived by his wife, Florence of Traer; two sons, Michael and Terry, both of Traer; four daughters. Pat RESSLER of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Neal (Kathy) WOOD of Traer, Mrs. John (Sue) BEHRNS of Delhi, and Mrs. David (Pam) McKINLEY of Traer; two sisters, Mrs. Ames (Helen) THOMPSON of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Tobe (Alfrieda) STIRLER of Waterloo and 12 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jim Wilson, John Stein, Donald Mauderer, Marvin Benda, Roy Kern and Edward Harms. The members of the flower committee were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Vest and Mrs. Robert Wood. The organist was Mrs. Wesley Tomlinson.
