Death Claims Aged Mother

Mrs. John (Catherine Vana) Bartachek of Chelsea is a Victim of Apoplexy

Mrs. John Bartachek, Sr., died quite suddenly at her home in Chelsea on Saturday, March 1, 1924, following a stroke of apoplexy. The deceased who was in her eighty-first year, was a native of Bohemia but had made her home in the Chelsea vicinity for a number of years. She is survived by her husband and nine children. the children are Louis, Albert and Mary at home, Charles, James, and John of Chelsea, Joseph and Frank of Brooklyn, and Mrs Joseph (Lottie) Yaroushek of Austin, Minn. For many years Bartacheks lived on a farm near Chelsea where the children were born and reared. some six or seven years ago the couple retired from the farm and moved to Chelsea. Mrs. Bartachek was one of those sterling mothers, strong in her devotion to her husband and children and sympathetic in her relations with members of the family and with neighbors. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church.

The funeral was held Tuesday morning from the Catholic Church and was in charge of Rev. Father Gregor. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery at that place.-St. Joseph's Cem.
