HOMER GRAYS CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING
OPEN HOUSE HELD AT THE LEGION HALL HERE SUNDAYOver 70 relatives, friends and neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Gray attended their golden wedding anniversary celebration and open house Sunday afternoon at the American Legion Hall.
The hall was attractively decorated with yellow and white streamers and bouquets of yellow and white chrysanthemums.
The large three-tier wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom was baked by Mrs. John Gray. Yellow candles in crystal candelabra were placed on either side of the cake. Entertainment for the afternoon was music played by an orchestra directed by H.H. Lorenzen, son-in-law and the members of the orchestra were the Lorenzen daughters.
Out-of-town guest were Mr. and Mrs. James Glass, Carole Ann, Jimmie, and David of Malcolm; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gray; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Keefe; Mrs. Lulu Ahrens; Mrs. Cora McUninch; Mr. and Mrs. Claud Shaffer and daughters, Romona and Bonnie; and Mr. and Mrs. A.M. McAninch; all of Brooklyn.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lambert and Mrs. John Wentland and daughter, Jeannie of Hartwick; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gray and daughter Marcelene and son, Marion of Grinnell; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hofer and children of Montour; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hofer of Garwin; Marian and Ora Mae Lorenzen of Cedar Rapids and Gloria Gray of Cedar Falls.
