The Clinton Age, Jan. 26, 1872
On Thursday last the 2 o’clock freight train, going east, when near this place, struck a cow belonging to W. T. Hollen. Here, and nearly cut off her hind legs, and to save here from dying it was necessary to take her life, and the result was more beef and less cow. – Tama Citizen
