FRANCES M KENT WEDS CLARENCE AUSTIN CASEY
Wedding on Christmas Day in Chelsea M.E. Parsonage
A pretty wedding took place at 6:00 pm Christmas day, Saturday Dec 25, 1926 when Rev G G Booten in the M E Parsonage at Chelsea united in marriage Miss Frances Marguerite Kent and Clarence Austin Casey, both of the Chelsea-Haven community.
The single ring ceremony was used. The young people were attended by Miss Hester Amidon and Luke Duffy. The bride wore a dress of peach satin crepe and Miss Amidon wore a peach georgette.
Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was served and reception held for the immediate relatives in the home of the bride’s grandmother at Haven.
The bride was born at Haven and was reared in the home of her grandmother, Mrs P.F. Kent at Haven. She was educated at Haven and also graduated from the Belle Plaine Business College. Later she studied post graduate work in the Tama high school. She has been staying with her grandmother.
The groom is a son of Mrs Mary Casey. His father was the late James Austin Casey. The groom was born and reared on a farm in the Chelsea community. He is a veteran of the world war, with ten months overseas service to his record. He finished his service as a sergeant.
Both young people are popular and held in high esteem in the Chelsea-Haven community. They begin housekeeping immediately on a farm of the groom’s mother.
