Last Will and Testament of Michael Shea, recorded in Record of Wills, Tama County, Iowa, in Book No. 2 on Page 17 by L. B. Blinn, Clerk of Circuit Court. Read and Filed on March 31, 1874 by L. B. Blinn, clerk of Circuit Court.

"I, Michael Shea of Richland Township, Tama County and State of Iowa, do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

That is to say first after all my lawful debts are paid, together with all necessary expenses in perfecting the Title of Record to a certain tract of about Eighty acres of land heretofore conveyed by me to John Corey of said county, the residue of my estate, real and personal, I give and bequeath and dispose of as follows to wit.
To my son John Shea the sum of Five Dollars. To my daughter Mary Hagerty the sum of Five Dollars. To my daughter Ellen Shea the Sum of One Hundred Dollars. I give bequeath and devise all the remainder of my real and personal estate with my son James J. Shea (except and reserving that herein after mentioned as bequeathed to said Ellen Shea) my said son James J taking the same on condition that he shall continue to support his mother Ellen Shea as long as she shall live and also that my daughter Ellen may and shall when she desires have a home with him until she becomes of age. I also give and bequeath to my daughter Ellen one cow and a note (or the preceeds thereof) which I hold against John Corey for near one hundred dollars." Michael (his mark) Shea
"The above written instrument was subscribe by the said Michael Shea in our presence and acknowledged by him to each of us and he at the same time published and declared the above instrument so subscribed to be his last will and testament and we at the testators request and in his presence have signed our names as witnesses hereto and written opposite our names our repective places of residence."
