Born March 18, 1896 in Tama County, IA.

Son of Theodore G. and Sarah J. Stoakes.

Entered service Sep 21, 1917, Camp Dodge; transferred to Camp Cody; first entered 163rd Depot Brigade.

Mustered out Dec 27, 1917 from 133rd Inf., Co. I.
