SAUNDERS, William Maxson

Born Aug 17, 1898, in Grand Junction, Iowa.

Son of Herbert A. and Hattie Babcock Saunders.

Enlisted April 12, 1917, at Des Moines, IA.

Entered Des Moines Fair Grounds; transferred to Camp Mills; first entered Co. B, 3rd National Guard; member of 168th Inf., Rainbow Div.

Gassed May 27, 1918, and died May 28, 1918, in battle of Cantigny. Buried at Baccarat, France.
