KUCERA, William F.

Born May 3, 1896 at Elberton, IA.

Son of Jacob and Mary Kucera.

Enlisted May 3, 1917 at Cedar Rapids.

Entered Ft. Des Moines; transferred to Camp Mills, Governors Island, and Camp Merritt; first entered National Guard.

In France Dec 7, 1917; member of Rainbow Division, 168th Inf., 42nd Div. In battles of Chambagne, Chateau Theirry and Argonne, Lorraine. Rainbow Division decorated for bravery.

Bugler.
