In Response To: Civil war soldier (J>A> Frohardt)

From Ancestry.com's American Civil War Soldiers database:
James Bevington resided in New Philadelphia, Iowa (no longer in existence). He enlisted (Union) 29 Jul 1862 as a private at age 29. He was placed in Co A, 23rd IA Infantry Regiment on 21 Aug 1862 and died of disease 26 Aug 1863.

Two other family collection records with a matching death date seem to indicate that he died on a boat on the Mississippi River. The city and county is listed as RCWOOD and there is a reference to "Lee Coia" in the country line which makes no sense to me but these might be clues for your research.

Hope that helps -- Tamara
