D D Bales

BALES, CARPENTER, STIFFLER

I am trying to sort out the life of D. D. Bales, pharmicist. I have records that prove a David Bales married Mary E Carpenter, in my line. But about 1900 things start to get sketchy. I find a Dernier D. Bales, (a druggist and listed as a widower) living with a Louisa Bales, grandmother of David and Mary(Carpenter)'s two sons. The sons are listed twice in the 1900 census. Once with their mother (who reports she is married) in Collins, and once with Louisa and Dernier in Maxwell. I later find a David D Bales marrying a Nettie Stiffler and listing this marriage as his second.

Any help sorting out if Dernier and David are the same person, and the life of David or Mary after 1900 would be greatly appreciated!
