THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, January 31, 2006.

Myron "Bob" Twedt, 69, Huxley, joined his Lord on Sunday, Jan. 29, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines surrounded by his family and friends. The cause of death was renal failure. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3, at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley. Rev. Tom Hilger will officiate. Burial will be in Fjeldberg Church Cemetery.

Myron Twedt was born Oct. 14, 1936, at Hudson, S.D., to parents Benni and Olga (Quarnstrom) Twedt. Bob has liven in central Iowa since the age of five. He was a laborer for 31 years at John Deere Des Moines Work in Ankeny until his retirement in 1988.

Bob married Sharon Phelps on June 7, 1958, in Ankeny. He was a member of Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley.

Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, Sharon; mother Olga Twedt of Huxley; a daughter, Rhonda (Kevin) Baker of Sheldahl; two sons, Dan Twedt of Huxley and Brian (Vickie) Twedt of Clovis, Calif.; a sister, Mary (David) Halverson; four brothers, Bert (Pat), Kenny (Carol), John (Barb), and Ron (Colleen); seven granddaughters, Nicole, Crystal, Danielle, Heather, Katie, Stephanie and Jessica; two grandsons, Brandon and Jason; five great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and friends that he loved like family.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to Fjeldberg Lutheran Church for cemetery beautification.

Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater is in charge of the arrangements.
