THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, November 29, 2005.

Albert O. Miller, 93, of Ames, and formerly of Ogden, died Sunday, Nov. 27, at Green Hills Health Care Center in Ames.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 2, at Carson Funeral Home in Ogden with the Rev. Richard Osslund officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Carson Funeral Home in Ogden.

Albert Olaf Miller was born on Jan. 6, 1912, in rural Perry, the son of Albert and Edna (Johnson) Miller. He graduated with the Ogden High School class of 1929. He farmed south of Ogden for many years with his brothers Virgil and Elmer. He married Helen Lass Dec. 24, 1979. In June 2000, they moved to Green Hills Retirement Community in Ames.

He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden and currently belonged to Memorial Lutheran Church in Ames. He was a former member of the National Corn Growers Association, was a board member of City State Bank and also served on the Boone Farmers Mutual Insurance Board. He had served as both secretary and treasurer of the Ogden Telephone Company. He enjoyed listening to music and reading, traveling and photography.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Miller of Ames; one son, Dan and his wife, Deb, Miller of Ogden; one daughter, Mary Jane Mack of Fort Collins, Colo.; one brother, Virgil and his wife, Cheryl, Miller of Ames; three sisters, Viola Wilson of Manson, Lura and her husband, Louie, Treloar of Parkersburg and Ethel and her husband, Clem, Marsden of Ames; three grandchildren, Ian Miller, Heath Miller and Patrick Cook; one great-grandson, Hayden Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Anna Lindholm; and one brother, Elmer Miller.

Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family
