THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, November 11, 2005.

Mildred Arline Johnston, 83, of Zearing, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Zearing. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. with the family present at the Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing. Services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 14, at the Zearing Christian Church. Burial will be in the Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing.

Mildred was born Dec. 13, 1921, in Eldora to parents Guy and Clara (Blair) Clatterbuck. She was a lifelong resident of Zearing. Mildred married Dale Johnston June 6, 1942, in Princeton, Mo. She was a homemaker, housewife and mother. She was a member of the Zearing Christian Church, Zearing Legion Auxillary unit No. 116 for 83 years, and the Zearing Coffee Club. She loved to knit, sew, cook and bake.

She is suvived by two daughters, Beth Dodds of Zearing, Judi (Terry) Nessa of Huxley; two sons, Bruce (Lyn) Johnston of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jeff (Joyce) Johnston of rural St. Anthony; 12 grand children; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dale Johnston on Nov. 28, 1997.

Arrangements were entrusted to Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing.
