THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, November 11, 2005.

Eloise Margaret Franz, 88, of Nevada passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames of heart failure. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada with the Rev. Thomas Poppe officiating. Burial will follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Eloise was born April 13, 1917, in Gray to Irving and Jessie (Shaw) Wenig. She was united in marriage to Rev. Leonard J. Franz on Aug. 10, 1934, in Gray. Leonard and Eloise were pastors at the Assembly of God Church in Nevada from 1957 to 1961. She lived in Corona, Calif., for 35 years and for 25 years was employed as a nurse assistant at the Circle City Hospital in Corona, prior to moving back to Nevada in 1999.

Eloise is survived by a son, David Franz of Yucaipa, Calif.; four daughters, Marilyn Berry of Mira Loma, Calif., Jeannette Burton of Santa Clara, Calif., Gayle Havel of Bondurant, and Phyllis Harrison of Nevada; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Tom Wenig of Kearney, Neb.; and two sisters, Jean Moeckel of Springfield, Mo., and Nettie Clemmensen of Minneapolis.

Eloise is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard on May 7, 1994, her son, Meredith Franz, and one granddaughter, Candy Franz.

A memorial fund has been established.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada
