THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, November 9, 2005.

Barbara Jean Zenor, 73, of Boone, died peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 8. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Gilbert Lutheran Church in Gilbert. Interment will be in Gilbert Cemetery.

Barbara was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Boone to Opal and George Morgan. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. After working several years at Spurgeons, she met and married Marvin Zenor Aug. 12, 1957, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They raised their three children on the family farm. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. She worked as a cook in the Gilbert Community Schools for more than 20 years. She was an active member of the Gilbert TOPS group and Gilbert Lutheran Church.

Survivors include Marvin, her husband of 48 years, her children, Jeanne (Mike) Webb of Leon, Paul (Lisa) Zenor of Boone and Kathleen (Troy) Spear of Story City; eight grandchildren; one brother, Jim (Ethel) Morgan of Boone; and other family includes Bessie Peterson of Ames, Ann Zenor of New York, Bill and Irma Zenor of Red Oak, Howard and Dorothy Wisecup, Florence Zenor, and Tom and Joanne Zenor, all of Boone.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Gilbert Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be directed to Gilbert Lutheran Church.

Stevens Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
