Funeral Services Friday at Fernald
Funeral services were held Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran church at Fernald for Charles Johnson, Jr., 14, popular high school boy and active 4-H club worker, who died April 10 at Mary Greeley hospital, Ames. Rev. Elliot of Des Moines was in charge of the service and burial was at Mitchellville.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnson, he was born on a farm near Ankeny, Polk county, April 2, 1926. He came to Story county a few years later with the family, and has been attending the Fernald school. He was active in boys' 4-H club work.
He leaves besides his parents a brother, Dale, who lives at home and sisters Mrs. N. N. Nichols of Des Moines and Norma Jean at home.
