MRS. NYGAARD DIED HERE LAST FRIDAY

Mrs. Bertine Nygaard, the daughter of Gunder and Gundhild Gunderson, was born in Stavanger, Norway, March 16, 1855. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

In the year 1878 she was united in marriage to Lewis J. Nygaard. Six daughters and two sons were born to this union.

They immigrated to America in the year 1885 and settled on a farm in Story City. Last February, '39, she entered the Story City Old People's Home where she lived until her death on February 9, 1940, at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 12 days.

Five daughters and two sons preceded her in death, and her husband preceded her in death shortly after they had entered the Home.

One daughter, Camille, Mrs. A. J. Kruse of Los Angeles, Cal., remains to mourn her departure.

Services were held at the Home Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 with Rev. S. T. Nelson officiating, assisted by Rev. P. Buland. Mrs. Lester Henderson sang a solo. Committal services were held at the Story City cemetery.
