MRS. S. H. OLSON

Mrs. Susan Olson, who died December 4, 1936, was buried from the St. Petri church on December 7, her pastor, W. B. Scarvie, officiating.

She was born January 19, 1861 in Fjeldberg, Sonhordland, Norway, of the parents Baard and Botilde Baardson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Fjeldberg church. In the year 1883 she emigrated to America where she married Ole E. Lee, from Olen, Norway in 1887. To them were born 5 children, two daughters and and three sons. They all died in their childhood days the oldest attaining the age of only 13 years. Her husband died in 1894 in Chicago. She was then married to Samuel H. Olson of Story City in 1910. Mr. Olson died in 1930.

Surviving her are her step-son, T. O. Olson, his wife and daughter; three sisters, Mrs. Syvert Rasmussen, Medford, Wis., Mrs. O. Valen and Mrs. J. T. Johnson of Story City and two sisters and a brother in Norway.

She was a member of the St. Petri Lutheran church during her life in Story City. She will be missed in the circles of the church and of her friends. She was a quiet, kindly pious and withal a happy and cheerful Christian woman.
