OBITUARY
MRS. T. T. HOLM
Mrs. Mary Holm, daughter of the late Mrs. Mary Christensen Hanson, was born in Yylland, Denmark, Dec. 22, 1866, and passed away in Story City at her home on Feb. 17, 1936, at the age of 70 years, 1 month and 26 days.
She came with her parents to Chicago when she was three years old, and in the year 1878 they moved to Story City. On March 28, 1886, she was united in marriage to Tom T. Holm, and to this union six children were born, of which two passed away in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death on September 8, 1929.
In 1899 the Holm family moved to Ihlen, Minn., where they lived six years, and in the fall of 1905 returned to Story City, where Mrs. Holm lived until the time of her death.
At various times during her life she experienced considerable illness and suffering, but bore it with much patience. Being confined mostly to her home the past year, she enjoyed the many visits of neighbors and friends, and especially those who brought the spiritual message to her.
She was a kid and loving mother, and her death leaves a vacant place in the home; but there is joy in her passing, for her faith has preserved her.
Surviving her are three daughters and one son: Mrs. Thora Henderson of Kenyon, Minn., Mrs. Randie Larson, Alvena and Torbjorn, all of Story City, and seven grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Nea Cue of Pipestone, Minn., Mrs. Clara Jensen of Des Moines and Albert Christianson of Slemons. She also leaves other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Scarvie in the St. Petri church on Feb. 21. "Beautiful Savior" was rendered by the choir. Interment took place in Fairview cemetery. John Hove, D. B. Olson, Edward Charlson, Bert Hill, Tom K. Henderson and Lew Brattebo served as pall bearers.
Besides the many floral gifts a substantial sum was given to missions in her memory.
