MRS. SAM SEVEREIDE FUNERAL ON MONDAY

The funeral of Mrs. Sam Severeide was held Monday afternoon at Immanuel church, with Rev. Heimarck officiating. Death came to her last Friday afternoon, following a month's illness with an ailment of the heart. Pall bearers were: Chas. and Severt Alsager, T. E. Rafdal, Isaac Hope, S. T. Farmer and Eli Monson.

Besides the many beautiful floral tributes the following sums were given to missions in her honor: Sam Severeide family $3, Miss Helen Mjones $3, Mr. and Mrs. Lars Eide $1, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Bjerkestrand $1, Julia Onerheim $2.

Mrs. Sam E. Severeide, nee Anna Mjones, was born in Vallestrand, Norway, January 25, 1882. Her parents were Bertha Matthiasen and Johannes Johansen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Vallestrand.

At the age of 19 she immigrated to America in company with her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Twedt, now of Kelley. The two sisters were met at Ellsworth by their brother, John Mjones, now of Gerled.

She was united in marriage to Sam E. Severeide of Story City on September 25, 1903. To this union four children were born, namely, Mrs. Julia Ostem, Benhard and Lester, all of Story City, and Mrs. Odelia Twiselton of Des Moines.

She passed away on Friday, Sept. 15, at 4;10 p.m., after an illness of a month's duration, at the age of 51 years, 7 months and 20 days. She suffered intensely but with the full assurance that Jesus was her personal savior, strength was given her in the most intense pain. This was comforting for her near and dear ones as she repeated as often as strength was given her, "Jesus Christ's blood cleanseth from all unrighteousness."

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and children, also grandchildren, Robert, Richard and Curtis Ostrem. Her father, two sisters and one brother preceded her in death. She is also survived by her aged mother and one sister in Norway; two brothers, Rev. Martin Mjones of Bottineou, N. D., and John Mjones of Gerled; three sisters in America, Mrs. Elizabeth Twedt of Kelley, Miss Bertine Mjones of Brooklyn, N. Y.; and a host of friends who will miss the friendly smile she always had.
