MRS. JOHN NELSON DIED LAST THURSDAY

Mrs. John Nelson, aged 84, died last Thursday afternoon at the home of her son, Peter Nelson, here. Death was due to a brief attack of heart trouble.

Mrs. Nelson was a native of Denmark, where she was born February 15, 1848. She came to America in 1872 and five years later was married to John Nelson. They settled on a farm five miles northwest of Story City and there they lived until 1911, when they moved into Story City and retired from active work.

Mr. Nelson passed away about four years ago. She leaves two daughters and three sons. One daughter, Mrs. Katie Gillie, died 14 years ago.

Those surviving are Mrs. Lewis A. Peterson of Story City, Mrs. Sena Jensen of Marshalltown, Christ Nelson and Peter Nelson of Story City and Walter Nelson of Peewaukee, Wis.

Mrs. Nelson as a young woman, united by confirmation with the Lutheran church in Denmark. She is well spoken of by those who knew her as a noble character, a good neighbor and a true friend.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from Grace Evangelical church with Rev. C. L. Fuller in charge. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery.

The pall bearers were John Larson, Chas. Ahrens, Andrew Thompson, Martin Jensen, F. W. Heers, C. F. Reischauer.
