HALVOR SHELDAHL IS LAID TO REST AT CANBY MINN.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, July 3, for Halvor O. Sheldahl, who died at his home in Canby, Minn., June 30. Rev. C. Haugen officiated at the home and at St. Stephen's church. Pall bearers were Chris Skjonsby, Iver Wigen, Louis Saltee, Carl Saltee, A. Berger and Ole Helgemoe. Interment was in the family lot in Wahlstrom cemetery, near Canby.

Halvor O. Sheldahl was born in Lisbon, Ill., March 13, 1851. He died at his home in Canby June 30, 1931, being 80 years, 3 months and 17 days of age.

He was the second son of Rev. and Mrs. Osmund Sheldahl, pioneer pastor of Story county, Iowa, where his parents moved when he was four years old.

In 1873 Mr. Sheldahl was married to Miss Sarah Severson. To this union 12 children were born. Ten of them survive their parents. They are: Mrs. A. Stenberg, Grove City, Minn.; Mrs. M. L. Christianson, Marshall, Minn.; Mrs. Peter Ahlman and Mrs. Ole Wicks, Canby; James, Stewart, Iowa; Harry, Sheldahl, Iowa; Oscar, Madrid, Iowa; Lewis, Kelley, Iowa; Elmer, Elmore, Minn. and Orel Sheldahl of Madrid. There are also 28 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In 1902 Mr. Sheldahl moved with his family to a farm near Canby. There Mrs. Sheldahl passed away in 1904.

December 12, 1915, Mr. Sheldahl was married to Miss Margaret Larson of Story City. They moved to Canby, where their home has been since. On August 6, 1917, Mr. Sheldahl suffered a stroke, from which he never recovered. Thru his long illness he showed Christian fortitude and appreciation of his wife's loving care.

Besides his wife and children Mr. Sheldahl is survived by his aged stepmother, Mrs. Anna Sheldahl of Sheldahl, Iowa, and one half-brother, Martin of Sheldahl, and two half-sisters, Anna of Sheldahl and Mrs. Eddie Anderson of Des Moines.
