OBITUARY.

Mr. Henry Bickelhaupt was born near Darmstadt Hessen, Germany, in 1841, where he lived until 1859 when he came to this country, settling at Morrison, Ill. There he lived until 1861, when he moved to Jasper county, Ia., where he made his home.

On April 20, 1869 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Birkenholtz and moved to Story county, settling upon a farm 6 miles west of Story City where he resided until his death which occurred Feb 23, 1908 at 7 p. m., thus making him 66 years, 10 months and 3 days old.

He leaves a wife, three sons and three daughters to mourn the loss of a loving husband and a kind and devoted father. The children are: Pete, Andrew and Henry Bickelhaupt of Story City, Mrs. George Hanna of Lone Rock, Ia., Mrs. John Jensen of Jewell and Mrs. Christ. Nelson of Story City.

Mr. Bickelhaupt was a man of sterling character having made many friends and helped to develop the community of which he was a pioneer settler. B.
