CHARLES BROWN DIED AT AMES

Son of James F. Brown Succumbs Suddenly of Heart Failure Sunday.

Charles J. Brown died suddenly at his home in Ames Sunday morning of heart failure. Monday's Ames Times conveys the sad news in the following article:

As he was latching the gate to a lot into which he just had turned his cow, Charles J. Brown, a carpenter, of 3846 West avenue, was stricken by heart failure about 9:30 o'clock yesterday morning, and died in a standing position with his arm over gate latch.

Boys who were playing ball nearby noticed that Mr. Brown had been standing at the gate for several minutes longer than it was necessary to fasten the gate and they went to see what was the matter. They found that he was dead, and called neighbors.

Dr. Ben G. Budge, who was on a call to a patient near the Brown home, and Dr. H. M. Templeton were called. They said that his death was due to failure of heart action. It is not believed that an inquest will be held.

His immediate relatives were notified of the death, and they came at once. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. Harris of the First Christian church officiating. Burial in the Ames cemetery.
