OBITUARY
Sampson Wier was born near Story City, May 28, 1859, and passed away April 13, 1916, being 56 years, 10 months and 16 days of age.
He was married to Harriett Myers, March 26, 1884, at Story City, near which place they have lived most of their life.
To them sere born six children, one son, having preceded him in death. There remains to mourn his death, his loving wife, Mrs. Harriett Wier and five children, namely: Lloyd F. Wier, Boone; Harry A. Wier, Story City; Clarence A. Wier, Missouri Valley; Mrs. Mildred Larson and Mrs. Angi Jacobson, both of Story City; also one sister, Mrs. Jennie Rasmussen of Canton, Minn., one grand-child and one cousin, Capt. W. A. Wier of Story City.
The deceased came to his death by scarlet fever. On account of the nature of the disease, a private funeral was held Friday, April 14. Services were conducted by Rev. C. D. Wendel, pastor of the Grace Evangelical Church. The deceased was laid to rest in Story City cemetery.
