YOUNG LADY PASSES AWAY

Vivan Woster Passed Away Last Friday Evening in Brea, California. Funeral Services Held This Afternoon

This community was saddened Saturday morning when the news was received that Vivan Woster has passed away the evening before at 8 o'clock. In company with her sister, Mamie, she had been living in apartments at Brea, Calif., at which place she died. Funeral services in charge of Rev. M. O. Sumstad are being held this afternoon from the Bergen Lutheran church where she was confirmed and has been a faithful member.

Gertrude Vivan Woster, daughter of Knut Woster of this place, was born November 13, 1900 and died November 30, 1923 being at the time of her death 23 years and 17 days, a young woman and in the prime of her life. She was a graduate of the Roland schools with the class of 1919.

Last year she went to Des Moines and entered the Lutheran hospital to take training as a nurse. While there she was taken ill with a very serious case of the flu which later developed into lung trouble. Last June, in company with her sister, Mamie, she went to California for her health, where she has been since. They were at San Diego until six weeks ago when they moved to Brea, where Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Severson have their home and who have helped so much in the care of Vivian. She passed away quietly in their apartment Friday evening at 8 o'clock. Her sister Mamie, who has constantly been with her since their trip west and Mrs. A. J. Severson arrived here yesterday morning with the corpse.

The mother of the deceased young girl passed away fifteen years ago and she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Sena Martens and Agnes Woster. Vivian Woster is survived by her aged father, K. Woster, and five sisters and one brother, who are: Mrs. R. O. Rasmusson of Crystal Lake; Mrs. Severin Langland of Williams, Mrs. Lawrence Coleman of Iroquois, S. D.; Mrs. Homer Duea of near Ames and Mamie and Clarence of this place, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Vivian Woster was a girl of quiet and pleasing character and acquired as a friend was a friend indeed. To know her was to love her and classmates and friends as well as many others will feel a loss in her departure and would extend that sympathy to the sorrowing family.
