COUNTY OFFICIAL PASSED AWAY
Mrs. S. Ada Miller, County Recorder Passed Away at her home at Nevada Tuesday Morning. Funeral Today at Ames.
Mrs. S. Ada Miller passed away at her home at Nevada Tuesday morning at 3 o'clock at the age of fifty-six years, the immediate cause of death being acute Brights disease. She was taken sick three weeks ago with a severe cold and two weeks later was taken seriously ill with Brights disease, which caused her death.
S. Ada Brouhard Miller was born near Nevada on August 30, 1869 and lived almost her entire life in that vicinity. She was united in marriage to A. J. Hawley who died in 1896. On May 17, 1900 she was again united in marriage to Mr. Miller and to this union two children were born, Ruth who survives her mother and Lisle, who met with accidental death three years ago at the age of seventeen years. Mr. Miller was elected county recorder in 1920 and was serving her second term when called by death.
Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Methodist church at Ames at 2 o'clock, Rev. Edward officiating. The body lay in state at the home at Nevada this morning and friends were given an opportunity to view the remains this forenoon between the hours of 10 and 12.
