Former Roland Resident Dies

Funeral Services for John Iverson Are Being Held This Afternoon at Bergen Church

John Iverson, aged 59, passed away last Sunday afternoon at 3:40, April 11, 1923, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. A. Lindroth at Nevada, from leakage of the heart and anemia. Funeral services are being held this afternoon at 12:30 at Nevada at the Lindroth home and at 2 o'clock at the Bergen church here, Rev. M. O. Sumstad conducting the services.

Mr. John Iverson was born on Spetember 11, 1863, at Sande, Norway, Europe, and moved to this country on July 12, 1882, and settled at Morris, Illinois. Here he was married on January 16, 1886, to Susan Nereim. In the spring of the next year they moved to Iowa coming direct to Roland, where he has lived until about a year ago. For the past year he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. C. A. Lindroth at Nevada, and with his sister, Mrs. William Olson at Blue Earth, Minn. He returned to Nevada from Blue Earth about six weeks ago and from that time had been gradually failing in health and death was not unexpected.

He is survived by three children, Mrs. C. A. Lindroth of Nevada, Ingemore Iverson of Des Moines and Iver J. Iverson of Fort Dodge, who were all at their father's bedside when he died. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. William Olson of Blue Earth, Minn., Mrs. Sarah Wicks of near Randall, and one sister living in Norway. Mrs. Iverson passed away on March 9, 1908. Mr. Iverson was a faithful member of Bergen church for 36 years.
