OBITUARY

Louis Kammin

Louis Kammin was born March 9th, 1882, in Boone county, Iowa, and died August 15th, 1922, in the Evangelical Lutheran sanitarium at Wheat Ridge, Colo., at the age of 40 years, 5 months and 6 days. His early life was spent on the old homestead and for thirteen years his health had been failing him. Five years ago he went to Colorado, hoping that the change in climate would lead to his recovery, but he gradually grew worse until the end came. Previous to going to Colorado he spent the winter in Florida.

He bore his suffering with much patience. Although he was lonesome at times, but owing to his cheerful disposition, he never complained.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church west of Mackey and has led a Christian life and been a faithful member ever since. His mother and one brother, Charley, preceded him to eternity. Those left to mourn his early departure are, his aged father who makes his home in Illinois, five brothers and four sisters, namely: William, August and martin of Boone, Henry and Chris of Story City, Mrs. Mary Ahrens and Mrs. Lena Ehrich of Blue Earth, Minn., Mrs. Winnie Hagge of Bondurant, Mrs. Anna Neimann of Mokena, Ill., and many other sorrowing relatives and friends. All were present at the funeral except one sister, Mrs. Anna Neimann, who could not come.

The funeral was held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from the church west of Mackey, in charge of Rev. Otto Geisler, and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near by.

Those from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hagge and family of Bondurant, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ahrens, Mrs. Otto Ehrich and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ehrich, all of Blue Earth, Minn., and Mr. Chris Kammin of Mokena, Ill.
