OBITUARIES

Obituary of Mrs. Elmer Severeid

Dora Schroeder was born Dec. 16, 1893, at Sumner, Iowa, where she also obtained an education in the public schools and grew to womanhood.

In 1914 she was married to Elmer Severeid at Waverly. Soon after she with her husband established their home in Story City, but later removed to Nevada, and then to Winterset where the family resided for a number of years.

About two years ago she became ill. The cause of her illness was boon pronounced by the physicians to be tuberculosis. Some months at Oakdale sanitarium and other medical aid failed to arrest the disease, and on May the 28th she passed away to the spirit world at the age of 31 years, 5 months and 12 days.

Mrs. Severeid was an affectionate mother and companion and sought as far as her strength permitted, to train the children born to them in Christian faith, having herself been trained in the Lutheran church. There remains to mourn their loss, her husband and four children: Esther Lulu, Dorthy Ruth, Myrtle Nora and Ray Lester. Also two brothers, W. H. and Harry Schroeder of Sumner and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Klemp, also of Sumner and Mrs. Emma Schmidt of Manchester, Iowa, and other friends and relatives. May the God of consolation give them comfort in this hour of sorrow.
