Services at Kelley For Ole Nerness

Funeral services were held for Ole M. Nerness Friday, Dec. 10, at 2 p. m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Kelley, with Pastor Olaf Holen in charge.

Glen Accola, soloist sang "My God and I" and "To See His Face," accompanied by Mrs. Lowell Accola who served as organist.

Pallbearers were Donald and James Brendeland, David and John Nerness, Larry Shaeffer and Harland Gaard.

Interment was in the Bethany Cemetery.

Obituary

Ole M. Nerness was born on Sept. 3, 1876, at Slater, Ia. He passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8 at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames after an illness of about five weeks.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a longtime member of the Bethany Church, where he was honorary president of the congregation.

He was married on Dec. 8, 1909, to Rachel Egemo. They would have observed their 56th wedding anniversary the day of his death. To this union were born three children: Mrs. LeRoy (Mildred) Brendeland and Glen and Orland Nerness, all of Kelley.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his widow and three children; one brother, Morton Nernes of Slater; and eight grandchildren.

Two brothers, George and Theodore, and a sister, Mrs. Oscar (Rachel) Fritz, preceded him in death; also two brothers and a sister who died in infancy.
