DR. E. A. RAWSON

Dr. E. A. Rawson, pioneer physician and surgeon, was a native of New Hampshire. He served as an assistant army surgeon during the Civil War and was honorably discharged June 10, 1865. He married Miss Catherine Huston in 1877. He started his medical practice at Sheldahl but moved to Slater when the town was started. He remained here until 1910 when he decided to retire from active practice and the residence and business were sold. After spending a year in the west he returned to Iowa and opened a office in Madrid where he remained until the time of his death in 1914.
