Rites at Alleman For Kate Lehman
Funeral services for Miss Katherine (Kate) Lehman were held Sunday afternoon Oct. 9 at the Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman at 2 p. m. with Rev. Reuben Eversman the officiating clergyman. The music was provided by congregational singing and by Kay Gfeller as organist.
Pallbearers were Willard Lehman, Harold Lehman, Dean Lehman, Richard Johnson, Clayton Smith and Arnold Engelman.
Interment was in the Lincoln Cemetery at Alleman.
Obituary
Katherine Lehman was born on Oct. 21, 1882, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lehman, in Polk County, Ia., on a farm northwest of Alleman, where she lived all of her life until Oct. 1, 1966 when she moved to Valley View Village in Des Moines. Death came just a year later on Oct. 6, 1966.
Miss Lehman was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ throughout her life.
Surviving are four brothers and three sisters: Mrs. Clara Engelman, Rose Lehman, Fred, Will, Mrs. Anna Smith, Mrs. Margaret Johnson, Art and Louis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Susan, and an infant brother.
Those attending the funeral from a distance were: Frank and Clara Morman of St. Paul; Robert Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith and William of Waterloo; Mrs. Orville Olson of Sioux Falls, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cooper and Mrs. and Mrs. Larry Cooper of Kanahwa, and Rev. and Mrs. Robert Long, Kristine and David of Frankfort, Ind.
