Rites at Sheldahl For Kelley Man

Services for Calvin Sherman Crabtree of Kelley were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Sheldahl Methodist Church.

Rev. Richard Nichol and Rev. Walter Berggren officiated at the services. The 23rd Psalm was used as the text.

Mrs. Orrie Stauffer was the organist and accompanied Lester Moore who sang "Beautiful Garden of Prayer" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."

Interment was in the Sheldahl Cemetery.

Obituary

Calvin Sherman Crabtree died at his home in Kelley on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1966 at the age of 79 years and 11 months.

He was born in Polk City, the son of Adney and Fannie Crabtree, and had lived in Kelley for the past 30 years.

He was united in marriage to Lillie Bell Cline on Oct. 26, 1910.

To This union was born four children: Mrs. Merritt Bailey of Ames, Mrs. Helen Sage of Kelley, Commander Roger Crabtree of Los Altos, Calif, and Roy of Des Moines.

Mr. Crabtree is survived by his four children and a brother, Clyde Crabtree, of Des Moines; two sister, Mrs. Bert Crum of Des Moines and Mrs. John Fees of Polk City; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

His wife preceded him in death in September, 1962.

Mr. Crabtree was a member of the Sheldahl Methodist Church.

He was always a loving husband and a kind and understanding father. He gave of his love, his time and his talents to many who were in need.

Along with his immediate family he leaves many friends to mourn his passing and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
