Obituary
Andrew Tesdall, the son of Lars and Martha Tesdall, was born on May 21st, 1861, on the Tesdall homestead, southwest of Cambridge. He passed away on Tuesday, February 6th, 1934, at an age of 72 years, 8 months and 16 days.
Mr. Tesdall attended the public schools and grew to manhood in the community of his birth. He later attended school at West Hi, Des Moines, from which school he graduated in 1883. He then taught school, here and in Nebraska. He returned to Iowa after the death of his father to take up farming.
On August 24th, 1892, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Lewis. In the spring of the following year they moved to Brunswick, Nebraska, near where they located on a farm. They made that state their home till the year 1905, when they returned to Iowa. They bought a desirable farm in the community, six miles south of Ames where they built a commodious home and have since lived.
Besides a wife, Mr. Tesdall left six children--Leslie at Huxley, Albert, who is staying at home, Jonas of north of Huxley, Mrs. Glenn Scott of Hollendale, Minn., and Mrs. Mattie Hansen of Oakdale. One brother, Lars, living west of Cambridge, and four sisters, Mrs. Carrie Nelson and Mrs. Martha Raynes of Ames, Mrs. Enger Walden of Perley, Minn., and Mrs. Abe Sheldahl of near Huxley.
Deceased was one of Palestine's most prominent citizens. He took an active interest in church and school work and other worth while movements that counted for good in life and will be greatly missed, not only in the home, but by neighbors and friends as well.
