Roland woman's sister died

Mrs. Bertha Gord, 87, died Sunday at the Long Beach Memorial Hospital, Long Beach, Calif.

Funeral services will be Wednesday from Hunter Mortuary in Long Beach. Burial will be in Long Beach Memorial Cemetery.*

Mrs. Gord was born March 8, 1883 in Huxley. She was married to Pete Gord May 24, 1900. The couple lived in Ames and Marshalltown until they retired in 1940 and moved to California.

Survivors include two daughter, Mrs. Marty Parker, North Hollywood, Calif. and Mrs. Naomi Olsen, Long Beach; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Willey, Gilmore City and Mrs. Evangeline Thomas, Roland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1945; a son, Cleo in 1969 and four brothers and three sisters.
