Final Rites for Mrs. N. T. Sydnes

Bertha Tweedt Sydnes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Iver Tweedt, was born June 25, 1869, at Slater, and passed away at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 11 days. Her entire life was spent at this home with the exception of a few years in Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

She was united in marriage to Nels T. Sydnes on Mar. 17, 1898. To this union was born nine children, two of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Nels T. Sydnes, and seven children: Myrtle Sydnes, at home; Mrs. Emmett Carlson, Sheldahl; Telmer Sydnes, Slater; Mrs. Gerald Parker, Des Moines; Mrs. Floyd Shaffer, Des Moines; Melvin Sydnes, Baxter, and Mrs. James Hanson, Collins. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Linda Olson, of Roland.

Mrs. Sydnes made a confession of faith in Christ in 1910 and remained a Christian until the time of her death.

Funeral services were held in the Lincoln Lutheran Church at Huxley with Rev. H. J. Aarhus officiating. Pallbearers were neighbors of the deceased: Oscar Fritz, Harvey Tesdell, Thor Mason, Ed Erickson, Severin Lande and Olem Tesdell. Burial was in Lincoln Cemetery, north of Huxley.

Vander Scheel, Mrs. Joe Lenard, Mrs. Ralph Maxwell, Mrs. Walter Jeffers, Mrs. Paul Heffelfinger, Mrs. Paul Barts, Mrs. Charles Maxwell, Mrs. Earnest Maxwell, Mrs. Orville Cleverly and Mrs. Jessie Donovan, all of Mingo, Ia.
