Funeral at Huxley For Mrs. Peterson
Services for Mrs. Nellie I. Peterson of Huxley were held Wednesday in the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church at 10:30 a. m.
The Rev. Leo O. Bjorlie of Slater was in charge of the service and chose Phil 1:19-21 as his text.
Mrs. Ed Hall sang two songs, "O, Take My Hand, Dear Father" and "Asleep in Jesus, Blessed Sleep.: Mrs. Jacob Lee was the organist.
Pallbearers were Burton Fjelland, Jacob G. Lee, O. B. Berhow, Dick Snyder, Paul Lee and Orland Fjelland.
The committal service at Elk Creek Cemetery, near Kensett, Ia., was held at 4 o'clock. The Rev. Hendrickson of Kensett was in charge.
Obituary
Nellie I. Peterson, daughter of Andreas and Agnetta Larson, was bon near Miller, in Hancock County, Ia., Dec. 2, 1882. She died at the home of Mrs. Randall Thompson at Huxley on Oct. 13 at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 11 days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church.
She was married to Dr. A. J. Peterson on Apr. 10, 1902, and they lived at Kathryn, N. D., Spicer, Minn., Fertile, Ia., and after 1915 at Forest City. After her husband's death in 1946 she sold their home in Forest City and resided with her children.
She is survived by three children: Mrs. Gladys Hughes of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. M. Harold Rye of Huxley and Robert of Seattle; also six grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.
She became a member of the Fjeldberg congregation in 1953.
Mrs. Peterson was laid to rest beside her husband in the cemetery of the Elk Creek Lutheran Church, near Kensett, Ia.
