Last Rites Held For Lars Bjorlie
Services for Lars O. Bjorlie of Albert Lea, Minn., father of Pastor Leo O. Bjolie of Slater, were held Friday afternoon at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, Minn. Interment was in Lakewood Cemetery at that place. Pastor Melford S. Knutson officiated at the services.
Obituary
Lars O. Bjorlie was born in Silver Lake Township, Worth County, Ia. on Sept. 28, 1878, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Bjorlie. With his parents he homesteaded in North Dakota. Later he homesteaded in South Dakota. He was a grain buyer in St. Peter where he met Marie Hallander whom he married in Faribault, Minn. on Dec. 18, 1921.
He operated the grain elevator at Emmons from 1922 to 1937. In Albert Lea he was in the real estate business under the firm name of Bjorlie Land Company. He retired three years ago.
Mr. Bjorlie was a member of First Lutheran Church and belonged to the First Lutheran Brotherhood.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Sigurd and the Rev. Henry O. and a sister, Mrs. Rendina Hauge.
Survivors are his wife, Marie; one son, the Rev. Leo O. Bjorlie of Slater; one sister, Mrs. Steno (Bertha) Severson of Sioux Falls, S. D.; grandchildren, Ellen, Leo, John, Mark, Lois Marie and Ruth Bjorlie, and a number of nieces and nephews.
