Services Held for Mrs. Bessie Culp

Services for Mrs. Bessie Culp, 82, of Alleman were held Monday afternoon at the Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman at 2 o'clock. Riis Funeral Home at Slater was in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Reuben Eversman was in charge of the services using for his message the text Rev. 2:10, "Be faithful unto death and I will give you a crown of life."

There were two hymns by the congregation, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." Dennis Wermersen was the organist.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Stafford, Orville Birkestrand, Merville Alleman, Elmer Juon, Merlan Juon and Phillip Nelson.

Interment was in the Lincoln Cemetery near Alleman.

Obituary

Mrs. Bessie Culp was born on Spet. 29, 1887, the daughter of James and Emma Moot at Campbell, Neb.

At the age of 15 she came to Iowa to visit with her sister and remained here to live.

In 1905 she was married to Fred Ringgenberg. Their marriage was blessed with three children: a son who died in infancy and two daughters, Mrs. Earl Mosebach and Mrs. Arnold DeBie, both of Sheldahl. She was preceded in death by her husband, who drowned in 1913.

In 1920 she was married to Fred Culp. They moved to Alleman in 1937 and opened the restaurant which she continued to operate till shortly before her death. Her husband preceded her in death in 1957.

Three sister and one brother also preceded her in death.
