Obituary
MRS. LENA SESKER
Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Sesker, 88, Maxwell, were held from the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cambridge on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Clyde E. Brueland officiating. Pallbearers were Kahl Sesker, Oscar Sesker, Andrew Sesker, Joe Sesker, Neil Sesker and Tolferd Sesker. Burial was in Cambridge cemetery.
Lena Garena Enge, daughter of Elling and Gerna Enge was born in Etna, Norway, May 27, 1872 and died at her home in Maxwell Oct. 5.
She was baptized and confirmed by the Rev. Mr. Heltburg in her native country of Norway. She came to Cambridge in 1893 and on May 1, 1894 was married to Carl Sesker of Cambridge at Clarion. Eight children were born: Oscar of Huxley, Mrs. Julia Alderman of Nevada, Andrew of West Des Moines, Anna, Mrs. Marion Patterson of Farrar, Kahl and Tolferd of Cambridge, and Leda and Anne, now deceased.
In 1901 they moved to the farm they purchased east of Cambridge and lived there until Mr. Sesker's death in 1952. Shortly thereafter, Mrs. Sesker moved to Maxwell. She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church of Cambridge.
Mrs. Sesker was the last living member of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, three brothers, her husband, two daughters, Leda and Anne, one grandson, Salvester Sesker and one great granddaughter.
Survivors include four sons, two daughters, 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
