At the age of seven she came to America with her parents, her bother Eric and sister Anna. Since her husband's death, 26 years ago she had been making her home with Mr. and Mrs. Matt Vespestad and spending her winters with Mr. and Mrs. Otto Knutson at Kansas City.

She was confirmed in the Palestine Lutheran Church at Huxley in 1877, and was faithful to her Christian beliefs all through her long and useful life.

On May 5, 1883 she was united in marriage to Knute Apland. To this union 12 children were born. Her husband and six children preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons and three daughters: Joseph Apland of Caldwell, Ida.; Johnnie Apland of New York City; Fred Apland of Chicago; Amelia Lewis and Edith Vespestad of Cambridge and Clara Knutson of Kansas City.

There are 29 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
