Willis M. (Bill) Hughes
Funeral services for Willis M. (Bill) Hughes of Huxley were held at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 17 at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Merlin K. Norris spoke on John 3:16 for the meditation.
Arlin Severson sang "In the Garden" and "Rock of Ages" accompanied by Mrs. Jacob Lee on the organ.
Pallbearers were Steve Tomlinson, Joe Sandoval, Carl Birkestrand, Ted Huxford, Boyd Antill, and Dennis Grant. Interment was in Fjeldberg cemetery.
Bill Hughes was born at Irving, Illinois on September 3, 1902. He was married to Viola Hulderson of Cambridge on May 4, 1929. They lived their married life at Sioux City, Ia., Le Grange, Ill. and Minneapolis, Minn. where he worked as an inspector of Hartford Steam Boiler Insurance Co. until he retired and moved to Huxley.
Mr. Hughes died at Medicenter of America in Des Moines on Thursday, April 15, 1976.
He is survived by his wife, Viola, two daughter, Nina Raveling, and Jane Welter, both of Minneapolis, Minn. and four grandchildren.
