Obituary
Mrs. Carrie Hill was born in Clinton county, Iowa, January 17, 1862, her parents being Christopher and Valjer Anderson. Later she moved with her parents to a farm west of Huxley, where she grew to womanhood. She was confirmed in the Fjeldberg church at Huxley, of which organization she remained as a member till death claimed her.
John Hill was born at Lisbon, Illinois, January 5, 1862. In 1867 his parents moved to Iowa, taking up their residence on a farm south of Huxley. There he grew to manhood. In 1892 he was united in marriage to Miss Carrie Anderson. They began life together on a farm near Kelley, where they lived happily, rearing a family of four children--Cora, Joseph, Winnie and Geneva. In 1920 they left the farm to take up their residence at Huxley, where they continued to reside till death called them--Mr. Hill on Friday morning, March 1st, and Mrs. Hill on Saturday morning, March 2nd.
They are survived by three children--Joseph, Winnie and Geneva. Another daughter, Cora (Mrs. Cora Masters), died in February. Mr. Hill left three sisters, Mrs. Ole Weeks of Kelley, Mrs. Anna Richardson of Huxley and Mrs. Lars Viland of Ihlen, Minn. Mrs. Hill is mourned by three sisters and two brothers. They are Mrs. Oley Scott of Belmond, Mrs. Jake Ennes and Mrs. Nels Jacobson of Gilbert and George and Andrew Anderson of Huxley.
Mr. and Mrs. Hill were faithful members of the Fjeldberg church, where they worshipped during their long residence in that community. They took and active interest in its work and will be greatly missed.
The funeral, held on March 5th was attended by an immense throng. The services were in charge of their pastor, Rev. Lunde. In addition to the choir, Mrs. Lars Kloster sang two solos, "Wings of Show" and "The Great White Host." Mrs. Thomas Helmey in Minneapolis presided at the organ.
