Curtis Clark, died at the home of his son Marshal Clark, at Slater, Ia. Monday eve, July 25th, 1892, after three week's sickness, aged 71 years, three months and 15 days, was buried in Sheldahl cemetery beside of his wife, Tuesday, July 26th, at 4 o'clock p. m. Rev Grantham, of M. E. church conducted the funeral services. Deceased was born in Geauga Co., Ohio April 10th, 1821, and was married to Miss Anna M. Babcock, March 28, 1844. Five children was born to them, of which three is now surviving them, namely Charles, living at Madison Co., Neb., Marshal, at Slater, and Mrs. Esther Cline, in Sheldahl. He came to Iowa in 1841, and settled down in Garden township, Boone Co. as a farmer, and afterwards moved to Sheldahl, where his wife died Feb. 13th, 1889. He has also a brother living at Marshalltown, this state and three brothers, and one sister living in Wisconsin. He had always been a hard working, honest and upright man, and was patient sufferer during his brief illness, and meeting the ups and downs of those who live to such an old age.
