LAST RITES FOR DR. EKREM

Funeral Held From the Huxley Lincoln Church--Died at Crookston, Minn.

From the Lincoln church at Huxley on Wednesday afternoon, April 30th, took place the funeral rites over the remains of Dr. J. M. Ekrem, well known to many people of the vicinity of Huxley and Cambridge.

The services were in charge of Rev. Buland, pastor of the church and long time friend of the deceased. He was assisted by Rev. Carl Vang of Slater, a schoolmate and friend from college days, the two having attended school at Augsburg Seminary. He paid a beautiful tribute to a dear friend. Music was furnished by Mrs. Roy Elliott and Miss Gladys Rullestad, who sang three numbers, "The Eastern Gate," "God's Way the Best Way" and "Asleep in Jesus." There was a large attendance. Burial was made in the Palestine cemetery. The pall bearers were Lew and Fred Larson, Tom Tollefson, George J. Severson and Albert and Joe Larson.

Deceased passed away at Crookston, Minn., on Friday, April 25th, the victim of a stroke. He had not been well for a year or so. He is mourned by his life companion and a family of five daughters. His wife was formerly Hilda Larson of near Cambridge, a sister of Fred and Lew Larson.
