Mrs. Hilda Ekrem Rites Scheduled for Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Hilda Ekrem of Brainard, Minn., will be at the E. U. B. Church in Ames Saturday at 1:30 p. m.
The body will be in state at the Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames until time for the funeral.
Interment will be beside her husband, the late Dr. John Ekrem, in the Palestine Cemetery, near Huxley.
Mrs. Ekrem died early Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Peterson in Des Plaines, Ill., where she had been staying since Christmas. She was 88 years old.
A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Larson, Mrs. Ekrem grew up in the Cambridge community and has many relatives and friends in southern Story County. She had also lived in Slater.
Surviving are five daughters, two sisters and one brother. Her daughters are: Mrs. Lloyd (Esther) Peterson of Des Plaines, Ill., Ruth of Minneapolis, Mrs. John (Deborah) Benson of Stewartville, Minn., Mrs. Calvin (Hildora) Ault of Brainard, Minn. and Mrs. Harvey (Vicki) Barowski of Minneapolis. Her sisters are Mrs. Ella Engen of Slater and Mrs. Sylvia Anderson of Cambridge and her brother is Albert Larson of Cambridge. Ten grandchildren also survive.
